Canada&#8217;s regional electricity grids trade more with the U.S. than \u200bthey do with each other, and its U.S. electricity imports have \u200bincreased every year since 2020, according to the Canada Energy Regulator.<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-module__text__0GDob text-module__dark-grey__UFC18 text-module__regular__qJJtA text-module__small__sph8i body-module__full_width__kCIGb body-module__small_body__gOmDf article-body-module__paragraph__Ts-yF\" data-testid=\"paragraph-3\">The electricity strategy \u200caims \u2060to use new investment tax credits to spur the construction of east-west electricity interties to connect regional power grids.<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"paragraph-3\">Canada also announced it will change its clean electricity regulations to allow greater use of credible \u200boffsets and also \u200benable greater flexibility \u2060for existing natural-gas-powered units to maintain reliability.
