TotalEnergies will sell its Brazil fuel distribution operations to local player SIM Distribuidora, the French company said on Friday.
The deal will cover TotalEnergies’ network of about 240 filling stations along with storage facilities for petroleum products and ethanol.
TotalEnergies, which will retain its lubricants blending and distribution activities in the country, said the move reflects its strategy of focusing on core geographical areas for retail and marketing.
Fuel distribution player SIM Distribuidora is owned by Grupo Argenta, which has more than 500 service stations in Brazil, along with lubricants and aviation activities.
TotalEnergies has been active in Brazil for around 50 years and today engages in a range of energy-related activities. Its 2023 production in the country was 135,500 boepd.
